The circulation of liquids such as heat transfer oil or water within a heating plate delivers very accurate temperatures at the plate surface. These plates can be used both for plane heating and cooling.

Heat build-up in the plate centre and temperature fall in the peripheral area, as often occurs in electric heating plates, is avoided by the circulation of a liquid medium. Generally speaking, these plates are a bit more sluggish in their thermal behaviour compared to an electrically heated plate.

A warming plate unit is optimised when a plate heated with liquid media is combined with electric surface heating. Moreover, this combination avoids the occurrence of a temperature decline between the inlet and outlet. With this combination, for example, temperature tolerances of +/- 0.5°C were determined on a pressing surface of 5 m².

Medium heating plates, too, can also be divided up into several zones. Needless to say, they can also be used as cooling plates. All constructions enable the integration of vacuum and blast-air channels in practically any design.

As opposed to other heating plate systems, the number of welded or soldered connections is 100% less – this rules out any risk of leakage. If leaks occur as the result of operating errors, all plate systems can of course be repaired within a short period of time.

Various different systems are deployed depending on your requirements:

Aluminium tube register -welded-
Square or rectangular aluminium tubes
are welded into a tube register. On the press surface
and on the back, aluminium sheets
in various material thicknesses are bonded over the entire surface.
Application range: up to approx. 150°C

Steel tube register -welded-
Rectangular steel tubes are welded together
into a coil. Around it runs a frame made of
massive aluminium with aluminium plates screwed onto it.
Operating temperatures: up to approx. 280°C

Copper tube systems in milled aluminium plates
Copper tubes are inserted into a specially machined
aluminium plate and bonded or screwed together with a
second sheet. This variant is primarily used
as a mould carrier in PUR processing.
Operating temperatures: approx. 60°C

Aluminium plates – with deep-hole bores
Al cast plates, precision milled with deep-hole bores. The connection of the individual heating or cooling ducts can be effected by a transverse bore or frontal milled cut-outs, which are subsequently welded pressure-tight.
